IT Strategy Interview with Christophe Oudot

Name: Christophe OUDOT - Position: Principal Consultant, Global Practice Manager - Altran Solution: IT Strategy & Organization - Industry: All - Related Group Solution: IT Governance

Context of Christophe's favourite project:

A Senior Management Committee that needs to decide on an improvement strategy, balancing growth and control while ensuring Business-IT Integration.

Christophe's Project Challenges:

Convince Senior Managers to take the time to look at the lessons learned out of experience and at the consequences and the means behind an organizational change.
Ensure that the planned improvement will be sustainable, i.e. that organization, business and employee expectations are covered by the program put in place, which focuses on the complete triangle: People-Process-Technology. Each of these axes needs to be improved. When one is missing, you generate frustration.

Christophe's Project Solution:

In order to prioritize improvement, the first step is not to jump-start a brainstorm on improvement possibilities but rather to define the organization’s identity: who are we, who are our clients, what is most important for us, what is most important for our clients and for our employees? When these questions have been answered, improvement opportunities appear clearly.

Christophe's Project Results:

The organization gained a clear and pragmatic improvement plan. Additionally, each member of the Steering Committee acquired a clearer view both of their own role and of that of their fellow board members. A positive energy and mindset for Senior Managers leverages the involvement of each employee!

I am convinced of the power of the helicopter view on a situation.
