Solar Impulse conquers France
The HB-SIA prototype took on a new challenge on June 14th by making a Brussels-Le Bourget flight in unusual weather conditions for the solar plane. After flying for 16 hours above the clouds, pilot André Borschberg received a warm welcome from those who were lucky enough to witness the majestic but silent landing.
The project’s co-founders were then welcomed by the director of the Paris Air Show and representatives from Altran and other partners, inaugurating Solar Impulse’s presence as a « Special Guest » of the Paris Air Show. Altran will of course be there all week long (June 20-26).
From June 20 to June 26, the 2011 Paris Air Show marks the fourth time Altran has a presence at the top event for all major players in our Aeronautics, Space and Defense Industry.
For the occasion, we have launched a dedicated website where you can find all the details of our presence, most notably via a daily video vignette.
On the ground, the Altran Chalet allows us to welcome our clients, our partners, our guests in a nice and cosy environment where we can discuss our business. Daily air exhibitions are visible from the rear deck and front balcony, but visitors to the Chalet come first and foremost to learn more about the Group and its activities.
To attract them, a dozen thematic conferences will be given during the week on the first floor of the Chalet. Hosted by Altran experts and guest specialists, these conferences deal with various topics covering the breadth of our Solutions and more: Mechanical engineering (speed-up of pre-design), Enterprise performance (hyper mobility solutions), Embedded and critical systems (new generation safety), as well as Sustainable development (creating sustainable value) and even prospective (the airport in 2040).
You can find the full schedule on the website we dedicated to the event, along with extra information (such as speakers bios), and don't forget to check every day for the video shot and cut by our correspondents at Le Bourget!
